The School

Lancaster Country Day School's 26-acre campus is located in a residential area in the west side of Lancaster, PA. LCDS serves families from more than 30 public school districts in six Central PA counties (Lancaster, Berks, Dauphin, Lebanon, York, and Chester). Students from this broad geographic area continually bring their unique perspectives and experiences to the school, making LCDS a fascinating, dynamic community.

Transportation options help make the commute to LCDS more convenient for our more distant families.

The Campus

LCDS is surrounded by its own playgrounds, athletic fields, tennis courts, and beautifully landscaped grounds ... including a center courtyard garden. The layout of the school itself promotes the feeling of community and unity.

Our open lockers are grouped into hallways designated for Lower, Middle, and Upper School; however, once the school day begins, hallway distinctions quickly end. Since all classroom facilities are housed under one roof, students of all ages mix and mingle freely. To encourage and strengthen this multi-aged community, we keep all of the school's facilities - five science labs, a three-level technology tower, Lower and Middle/Upper School libraries, three-studio arts center, and two gymnasiums - accessible to the entire preschool-12th grade student body.

First-time visitors can’t ignore the special atmosphere this unique campus creates: kindergarteners, middle-school students, high-school seniors, teachers, coaches and parents interacting meaningfully, regularly, and comfortably as members of a warm, caring community. Come see for yourself!
