Testing
Standardized tests are often part of the application materials. Registration bulletins and information booklets are available in the College Guidance Office, but both the College Board and American College Testing agency have links to their sites and encourage online registration. Both web sites provide sample questions and tips for taking the tests in addition to the dates and testing centers. The school code is 392115.
Sophomores and juniors take standardized tests at LCDS in October. The sophomores take the PLAN test the same day that the juniors take the PSAT. The scores and other information from these preliminary exams are very useful for students, families, and counselors.
Like the majority of colleges and universities, we at LCDS regard standardized entrance examination scores as only one part of s student’s profile. We place greater emphasis on performance in rigorous courses. We neither teach to the entrance exams nor offer prep courses in our curriculum. Consequently, we do not publish test scores as we believe that such publication places improper emphasis on them. We prefer to promote academic achievement in classes within our school.
