Careers in the Arts

Getting Ready

Take art classes! Talk to your instructors. Try all types of art or focus on an area of specific interest. But even if you are on a 3-dimenstional or digital track you must have some drawing experience. Then in the Jr. year students will prepare a portfolio. The summer before Sr. year the portfolio will be photographed for college admission.

In the fall many colleges host Portfolio Days where students can take their work for critique as well as become familiar with college expectations. These will be encouraged.
